Psychological Services for children, teens and adults
Learning Discoveries Psychological Services was established in 1991, by Rosemary Boon, psychologist and nutritionist, to provide alternative and complementary interventions to medication for the amelioration of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) / Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and associated comorbid (coexisting) disorders, and remedial teaching to children, adolescents and adults with learning difficulties.
Learning Discoveries Psychological Services offers a multi-disciplinary, “state of the art”, non-invasive, drug -free strategies for children and adults with learning, behavioural and emotional disorders within a nurturing, integrative, biomedical framework encompassing learning, healing and personal growth, thus empowering those with these difficulties to lead fulfilling lives.
The Pyramid of Development, Learning and Wellbeing is the basis for all interventions aimed at improving brain function. Since “the brain is the hardware of the soul”, it needs care and feeding for optimum function and self-regulation.
The teaching methods and programmes used at Learning Discoveries are based on the latest research from cognitive psychology and brain studies, blended in a unique way to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs. And being a qualified nutritionist, Rosemary recognises the gut-brain connection in developmental, learning and emotional disorders.
All the practitioners at Learning Discoveries Psychological Services are qualified, experienced and dedicated to delivering services that enhance quality of life and empower individuals with disabilities to become their own best advocates.
